MCP / AI Integration
SSH Everywhere ships with a built-in MCP (Model Context Protocol) endpoint, so your AI assistant (WorkBuddy / Claude / Cursor and more) can manage all your servers in natural language.
> In one sentence: MCP is the "USB port" for AI tools. SSH Everywhere uses MCP to become "the hands of your AI" — you just talk to your AI, and it operates your servers through SSH Everywhere, never touching a password or a command line.
---
How it works
You (natural language) → AI Agent → SSH Everywhere (jump host · credentials managed) → Servers
- Server passwords stay in the panel. The AI assistant only gets a Token — it never sees your passwords.
- All your servers (cloud, NAT, Android) are reachable to the AI through SSH Everywhere as the jump host.
---
Connect in 3 steps
Step 1: Install the panel
The installer sets up the MCP service automatically — no extra config:
curl -fsSL https://ssheverywhere.com/install.sh | bash
Step 2: Copy the endpoint
Log in to the panel and open the start menu's "🤖 MCP / AI Integration". You'll see:
- Endpoint (the full URL, token included)
- Token
- Ready-made configs for each AI assistant
One-click copy — no manual entry, no asking anyone.
Step 3: Paste into your AI assistant
Paste the URL into WorkBuddy (or any MCP-capable assistant) and save. A green "connected" indicator means you're done.
---
6 ops tools
Once connected, the AI assistant can:
| Tool | What it does |
|---|---|
list_servers | List all your servers |
run_command | Run a command on a server |
list_files | List a directory |
read_file | Read a file |
write_file | Write / edit a file |
get_system_info | Check CPU / memory / disk |
---
Examples
Just talk to your AI assistant:
- "List my servers"
- "Run
df -hon the blog server" - "Show me the nginx config of the production server"
- "What's in /var/log on the NAT device?"
The assistant calls the right tool, runs it on the target server, and reports back in plain language.

Assistant-specific setup
WorkBuddy (Tencent)
Sidebar → Plugins → MCP Servers → Configure MCP, choose the HTTP type, and paste the endpoint copied from the panel.
Claude Desktop
Edit claude_desktop_config.json and paste the config from the panel:
{
"mcpServers": {
"ssh-everywhere": {
"type": "http",
"url": "http://<endpoint copied from the panel>"
}
}
}
Cursor
Settings → MCP → Add new MCP server, choose HTTP, paste the endpoint.
Other assistants
Any tool that implements MCP (Streamable HTTP) works the same way: add an HTTP MCP server and paste the endpoint from the panel.

Security notes
- Credentials managed: passwords stay in the panel; the AI only ever gets a Token.
- Two-layer tokens: Agent → MCP uses the "MCP token", MCP → panel uses the "API token" — separated.
- The token equals admin access: never leak the endpoint or token, and never share screenshots of them.
