Files / Processes / Terminal

This article introduces the panel's three daily-operation essentials: file management, process management, and the remote terminal.

File Management (SFTP)

Overview

Browse, upload, download, and edit files on the target server through SSH's SFTP channel. Operate remote files just like a local file manager.

Use Cases

  • Modify configuration files (e.g. nginx.conf, .env)
  • Upload website code, download log files
  • View directory structure, clean up temporary files

How to Use

Enter "File Management" for a server:

  • Browse: double-click a directory to enter it and view the file list (name, size, modified time, permissions)
  • Upload: upload local files to the current directory
  • Download: download remote files to your local machine
  • Edit: edit text files online (for large files, downloading first and then editing is recommended)
  • New / Delete / Rename: regular file operations
  • Change permissions: right-click a file/directory → "Change Permissions" to change octal permissions (e.g. 755/644), apply recursively, and change the owner (e.g. www-data); also supports compress/extract, copy/cut/paste, sending to other servers, etc.

> File management uses the SFTP protocol, which requires SSH to be enabled on the target server (enabled by default); no additional software installation is needed.

Process Management

Overview

View the processes running on the target server (CPU and memory usage) and terminate abnormal ones.

Use Cases

  • Identify processes consuming too much CPU/memory
  • Manually terminate stuck or abnormal processes

How to Use

Enter "Process Management" for a server:

  • View the process list (PID, CPU%, memory%, command)
  • Select a process and click "Terminate" to stop it

> ⚠️ Terminating a critical system process may cause service failures — proceed with caution. For processes you are unsure about, search and learn about them first.

Remote Terminal

Overview

Open an SSH terminal to the target server in your browser and type commands directly — no need to install any SSH client on your own computer.

Use Cases

  • Run arbitrary commands (install software, check logs, debug)
  • Scenarios requiring a full interactive shell

How to Use

Enter "Terminal" for a server and type commands just like in a local terminal.

Remote Command Execution

The panel has a built-in "Execute Command" feature that runs commands in batch on one or multiple servers and displays the output — ideal for operations scenarios (e.g. batch updates, batch checks).

Notes

1. All operations run as the SSH user you entered. Logging in as root grants the highest privileges — confirm your commands are correct before running them.

2. File edits take effect immediately after saving, but some services require a restart to pick up the new configuration.

3. Terminal sessions and file operations are all encrypted over SSH — safe and reliable.
